The Board of Directors of the Brown County Agricultural Society (Fairboard) meets in the meeting room of the New Ulm Airport at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December. During the months of June and July the meetings are held in the NOB on the fairgrounds. Meetings are not held in January and August.

Brown County Free Fair Smoking Policy

As of  May 2018 the Brown County Free Fair has adopted a new tobacco policy.

Tobacco use which includes the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited in all enclosed buildings and tents, ALLbleachers areas for events (demos, tractor pull, concerts, horse show, beef show, etc.), and within 20 feet of all entrances to these buildings inside the grounds of Brown County Free Fair. This includes the tobacco use in any form; cigarettes, chew, snus, pipes, cigars, electronic cigarettes and vaporizers. This including, but not limited to, all nicotine delivery devices.

Designated Tobacco and Electronic Device Free Areas Include:

  • All enclosed buildings with walls and a roof and within 20 feet of the entrances
  • All buildings which house animals, livestock and within 20 feet of the entrances
  • All portable tents and 20 feet within entrances
  • Entire grandstand area, including concrete and portable bleachers

Designated Tobacco and Electronic Device Areas Include:

  • All outside bar locations/beer garden areas
  • All outside open air areas (with exception of noted areas)
  • Public Parking
  • Pit area

This policy applies to all volunteers, independent contractors, and members of the public while attending the Brown County Free Fair. The policy will be enforced by the Fair Board with the assistance of The Brown County Underage Substance Abuse Coalition (USAC) and Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP).  Signs are posted throughout the Brown County Free Fairgrounds.

Individuals violating this policy will be asked to refrain from the use of tobacco and electronic device in the designated free areas and asked to move to a designated smoking location.
